Our Progressive Education Program...

Our Progressive Education Program incorporates a student-centered, holistic approach to education that emphasizes the value and importance of learning that is:

  • Inquiry-based: Placing the student's intellectual curiosity at the foundation of the learning process.

  • Personal: Recognizing that learners are valued and fully supported in the development of interests, self-knowledge and sense of purpose.

  • Inclusive: Creating environments that make space for all students to feel seen, respected and cared for regardless of ethnicity, identity, sexual orientation, ability, or religion.

At the center of our approach is the Portrait of a Children of Peace Learner, designed to support our students’ development into curious explorers, critical thinkers, inclusive collaborators, creative communicators and change makers.

We build upon our proud tradition of academic excellence, inclusivity, belonging, faith and peace, equipping our students with the knowledge, resources and support they need to be successful both in school and in our society.

At Children of Peace School we pride ourselves on creating a collaborative progressive educational experience. Here you will find our grade bands are grouped in learning cohorts, fostering a sense of community and mutual support among students. Each cohort is designed to encourage peer interaction and cooperative learning, ensuring that every child feels valued and included.

Our dedicated educators use innovative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles, promoting critical thinking and creativity. We integrate technology seamlessly into our curriculum to enhance learning opportunities and prepare students for the future.

Primary Division
Grades K - 2

Our main focus for K-2 students is to provide the building blocks needed to instill confidence in them so that they can become problem solvers, independent thinkers, and life-long learners. In small class environments, we provide a curriculum crafted to prepare our students for the next steps for success. Classes include Math, Language Arts, Science, Sign Language, Reading, and Social Studies. Students of all faiths participate in daily prayer and religion classes that teach the Catholic faith and have opportunities for worship at weekly prayer service.

Intermediate Division
Grades 3 - 5

We focus on instilling our 3rd-5th graders with a solid foundation of critical reasoning, problem solving, and independent thinking. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and spiritual development in classes like Math, Language Arts, Science, Sign Language, Reading, and Social Studies. Students of all faiths continue to learn about the Catholic faith through participation in daily prayer, religion classes, and weekly prayer services.  They are also able to take the classes needed to prepare for First Communion and Reconciliation.

Middle School Division
Grades 6 - 8
In middle school, we continue to build on the solid foundation established during the earlier grades, encouraging independent analysis, inquiry, and creativity. Students continue to work closely with their teachers in a small classroom setting to take ownership of their education in Math, Language Arts, Science, Sign Language, Reading, and Social Studies while pursuing spiritual growth and receiving instruction in the Catholic faith through daily prayer, religion classes, weekly prayer service, and opportunity to take classes in preparation for First Communion and Reconciliation.
